1969 GTO Kellogg’s Cereal
Give-A-Way Car
– We recently purchased a rare piece of nostalgic muscle car history. If you
are looking for that super rare car and highly documented car, look no further
because you just found it!!! In 1968, a
girl in the 8th grade filled out the back of a KELLOGG’S RICE
KRISPIES®
CEREAL BOX for a chance to win the top prize of a 1968 GTO Convertible and a
guest appearance on the popular hit TV show
(Hey, Hey... It's )THE MONKESS
OR 1 of 15 GTO Hardtops. Well she won and this is 1 of the
only 2 remaining GTO give-a-way cars left that are known to exist. We
have all the documents including letters, newspaper articles, original cereal
box entry forms, dealer invoices, build sheet, warranty cards, protect-o-plates
and complete owner history of this car. There also was an article about this car
in April 2005 issue of
Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine
and the cover reads “1 of 15 GTO
HARDTOP CEREAL CONTEST WINNERS FOUND.” This car has undergone
a repaint and engine-rebuild but is pretty much exactly what was ordered and
what the build sheet describes. It has the L65-400 c.i./2 bbl engine, M40
TH-400 auto trans, air conditioning, in-dash tach and gauges, power steering and
power disc brakes, hide-a-way headlights, and the list goes on.
The body is very nice and the
Verdoro Green
paint shines great. All the chrome and
weatherstripping look good too. The interior was recently redone and looks
great. Everything works as it should including the air conditioning. The engine
runs real nice and strong and has a nice original rumble to it (the previous
owner rebuilt the engine). The TH-400 trans shifts crisp and firm and the car
overall drives tight. Cars like this come
available only once in a great while. If you are a collector or someone who
wants to own a car with some real cool history, you are not going to want to
miss out on this GTO. Documented and unusual cars like these are a great
investment and it's hard to put a value on them. This is only 1 of 15 cars that
were given away by Kellogg’s and there are only 2 of the 15 still in existence.
Own part of that history!!!
